you can't, but the country will not change overnight when there is a new president elected, yet the same congress remains.

the real power is in the congress, but alas no one wants to hear that.

things will "stay the course" or get worse, and it will all be the republicans or bush's fault. nothing to do with unrealistic expectations and promises

Good answer. In the mean time I hope they enjoy spending 150 million on a fucking welcoming party. 41 million from "donations". Some of the 41 million coming from businesses we just bailed out.

Obama publicly already acknowledged that changes will not happen overnight, and that the US is so deep in shit, that it will take two years to start feeling the changes. The immediate change that we can feel though, is that people were less depressed, knowing that Obama was in, and Bush was out. Obama's pragmatic approach to solving problems will be much more efficient than Bush's manichean and binary thinking. Good/Evil. With me/against me. Us/Them. Wow. Basic concepts, for simple peoples with limited understanding.

Totally agree... I would much rather have seen a very quiet and inexpensive inauguration ceremony. Same thing with the new presidential limo and redecorating the white house. It would have really said something if he could have done everything very low key and spend as little federal money as possible.

a decade prior? clinton did some things I didn't like, but i don't think this can be pinned on him esp considering the impact he made on the deficit vs. bush's

This is very true. It's amazing what a revival in morale and renewed faith in government can do.

It was his fellow liberal, Bill Clinton's fault...
typical RW, want to be in charge until the shit hits the fan then they blame it on a liberal...

Bush is to Blame, get over it, you controlled everything with his first 6 yrs in office and the shit hit the fan, the RW is to blame, step up and man up and take your beating...

You controlled the congress when Clinton was in office too so you really can't blame him, yes, he signed some Republican Bills that he shouldn't have but remember who introduced them...

this economy is Reaganomics running it's full course, accept it, learn from it and disband the republican party for it...

We are almost at our lowest point which will come later in this year, this economy still hasn't hit bottom yet and when it does, we can only hope that the Leadership of Obama and his team will be able to undo what the Bush Clown Car has done in 8 yrs...

Obama should automatically get a 8yr term just so that he can fix this FUBAR...

Good Luck to him and his team as they are going to need it...

atleast we don't have to worry that John McCain might die leaving us with Ms. NumbNuts in charge....
