Well.....here in Ohio, they did away with tailpipe sniffers. Makes sense when you realize the number of semis with completely unregulated, particulate-rich exhaust on the road has grown exponentially in past years. Cars are squeaky clean in comparison.

Regulate the trucks. When it comes to road surface wear, one pass by a truck equals at least 5000 cars (American Society of Civil Engineers), and America's roads and bridges are getting beat to death, but no one's fixing them. Get all that freight back on the rails where it belongs! And let me drive my beloved old car in peace!

PS: The reason they go after individuals and not companies is that individuals seldom hire lobbyists to buy legislators, but big companies often do.
