On change.org, the #1 request of Obama is marijuana legalization. I hope he takes it seriously. Here is a police chiefs take on the issue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0YYAdVtcgg

It is really ridiculous that someone might ridiculed for wanting to legalize it. That is just how it is here though, so meh.
I used to smoke a lot of weed in my younger years. I don't anymore simply because it's not as fun for me anymore. Just doesn't do it for me. But I do think it should be legalized, and there are a number of different reasons why it doesn't make sense that it is illegal. It's just a stigma.
I would MUCH rather be a stoner than an alcoholic.

I don't consider myself a liberal or a conservative- I think I'm a mix of both.
I am for legalization of pot simply because I think too many of our country's resources are wasted on pretending to enforce the current pot laws and then dealing with those who are charged with breaking the laws.
I don't smoke pot, haven't done so in about 20+ years, and even then it was used only occasionally. I will say again what I've said before- I think pot smoking is something that you have a little fun with in your teens and 20's, but if you're still smoking pot in your 30's and above, I think you're officially a pothead. I think if I smoked pot now I would weigh 400 lbs and never get anything done.
But hey, it's a free country, right? If they legalize it and you want to smoke every minute of every day- go for it!!!
I do think they should tax the hell out of it..... like $5 per joint, and use the tax proceeds to develop an affordable 5 lug conversion for E30's.
