My point is that if you were an adult during the Gulf War you understood that Saddam was not a religious believer. He was just a plain asshole. 9/11 was about religious extremism. It never made any sense that Saddam would have been behind 9/11 (even though his power came from fighting the U.S. with his no-fly zone crap).
When Bush used 9/11 and Iraq together in every sentence in the build-up for the war, I felt as though I was getting a pitch from some shitty used car salesman. It was insulting. Most people bought into it though.
