he needs to address his problem with the people he is interning with. they may be able to work out some kind of solution. If not he needs to quit. No internship or job is worth you losing your ability to walk. Hiding problems from an internship or a potential employer doesn't speak very highly of a person. So if he hasn't brought that up, he might want to do so. Next, see if there is some kind of walking cast or crutches the doctor can recco. If the doctor says it must be done immediatly, then either get a second opinion, or get it done. None of us are doctors here. You wanted advice, besides the LSD coment, I would say we have given sound advice. If you don't like it, don't ask for any more advice n a freaking car forum. ask your parents, his parents, or someone older than you with experience.

The right thing to do is to take care of the problem asap. Talk to the program administration and see about getting back in once healthy. If they say tough luck, then guess what? Tough luck. Unless he's bucking to be the first gay left-handed albino midget shot into space with a guaranteed billion dollars and seventy-two virgins upon safe landing, there's no 'program' worth risking life in a wheelchair over. Sucking on painkillers is only going to mask further, possibly permanent, damage.

im not saying that, i dont know you so i know nothing about your profession i agree if with going to the doctor and get it fixed but he was just stuck in between a rock and a hard spot and asked for some advice.

Oh, I'm an EMT, and, come from a family of physical therapists/Dr's. I don't know anything about injuries.

wow, wrong place to ask for advice. since i stated he cant quit the program because it was impossible to get in that would be a waste of a years worth of work he has already gone through. Yes putting a band aid on a bullet wound is pointless but thats why i was simply asking for someone who might have a little bit of a medical back ground to say something.

Yeah, that's me. If he wants to walk for the rest of his life he needs to see a doctor NOW. There's no way around it - you can't put the damage on temporary hold. His broken bones in his foot WILL die if untreated - after which he will likely have to get his entire foot/ankle fused. Don't be a dipshit.

PS - this isn't the "Wrong" place - it's just the place with the hard to swallow real answers.
