The body is number one priority. I don't know of any way to help him.Leave a comment:

Well, I'm a medical doctor and my free medical advice is to get the foot treated properly by a competent orthopedist. Period.
Since you say your "friend" is a student, then payment shouldn't be a major issue. He should have insurance coverage for medical/surgical emergencies as part of his student health package. If he's interning for a major company like CAT. then he should also be covered by their liability coverage (I'm assuming he was injured while working there). If all else fails, he will be covered by Medicaid or the hospital's charity care program. This isn't 1850 where you can die on the front steps of the hospital simply because you can't pay. Both the doctor and the hospital must provide needed care regardless of your ability to pay.
As for the plan to buy drugs from Mexico...yeah, I'm sure you guys are the first to ever think of bringing a bag full of prescription pain meds over the border
I'm sure US Customs and Border Patrol have never dealt with this before. Anyway, you can let us know how this plan works out for you from your cell in a federal pen.

soo.. if his feet hurt that much, it's gotta be affecting his job performance right? How much longer until he gets reprimanded/fired because he can't do his job on account of his foot pain? I understand you're trying to help, but your friend needs medical attention. And if the program he's in is so desirable and great, they will either help him with his medical issues or he will face consequences for not performing based on his medical issues (unknown to the program.)
IF YOU LET THIS GO, HE WILL EVENTUALLY LOSE THE JOB WHEN HIS FEET ARE PERMANENTLY FUCKED UP. IF HE TELLS THE PROGRAM, HE HAS A FIGHTING CHANCE OF BEING TAKEN CARE OF.

Forget about going to Mexico to get Pain Meds. He will either get ripped off, locked up, or both.
And the only stuff they really sell down there for pain is Neo-Percodan, which is actualy Propoxyphene (Darvon, Darvocet), which is a crappy pain reliever.
Have him go to a real Dr. here in the states. If he has a legit pain issue, his Dr. will likely write him up for Vicodin or similar, which is inexpensive for generics.
If he is entertaining any fantasies about copping Oxy's in Mexico, he is dreaming and will end up in jail.Leave a comment:

Place your bets! Place your bets! Will it be blunt or georgegraves who first emails the Caterpillar training people with a tip on how to spot the gimpy painkiller junkie?Leave a comment:

Just go buy some H, its a lot cheaper and you'll get the junkie thing out of the way really quick. Also the foot won't be your biggest problem anymore, and you won't have to worry about having a job because you just won't give a shit.
Doesn't he have any family?Last edited by Nicademus; 02-04-2009, 02:17 PM.Leave a comment:

It's possible.Perhaps a truly skilled foe has baited a trap? What cunning evil denizen has lured us in with his waffleswaffleswaffles-eyed posts of "realists" and patently stupid ideas for his "friend?" Caution! Caution I say, daring warriors! He might be leading joo to jour intarwebz doOm.
Or maybe he's just a moron. In that case, +2 points Clairvoyance for blunt and he gets to roll again.Leave a comment:
