I agree with Josh.

I think that comics and graphic novels can get away with a lot more and can be somewhat silly sometimes, for lack of a better word, without detracting from the seriousness of the work. Movies are scrutinized much more and I feel like if they included a giant squid at the end of a movie with a serious tone, people will just laugh at it and it wont be taken as seriously. Same thing goes for the Nightowl's costume. If they kept his suit identical with the way it looked in the novel, people would be laughing and walking out of the theater. I think Snyder is making the right move by making slight changes.

The more trailers I see for this the better it looks. These comics came out mostly after my time in comics though.

So in super heros' world, Dr. Manhattan should be the "God". Even the Superman is no equal(more like no where near) to this guy.

can't wait to see the movie, read the book long time back.
