    Australia Wildfires

    Over 100 dead, RIP.

I hope all you e30 guys in Victoria are staying safe!! I can't imagine what it must be like to have the fires so close to Melbourne, and for anyone out in the country, my thoughts and prayers are with you! I've been trying to keep in touch with all my buddys around Shepparton/Bendigo, and so far everyone is ok. Hang in there guys. Oh, and for all the Queenslanders, keep swimming and watch out for the crocs ;) It blows me away that Vic can be completely on fire and getting up to 46C, yet Qld is underwater from flooding. Crazy.

Damn everything in that one town destroyed. I hope those folks who have the pick up the pieces can do so without too much trauma.

Apparently the flooding is causing an outbreak of Dengue Fever too:

...and not that long ago an area of Brisbane got worked over by cyclonic storms.

The woman I share my office with is pretty worried about her parents today...they live in Yea which is in the fire's pathway at moment (though apparently things might be easing). Her folks know some of the dead...it's a pretty bad scene.

Australia's prime minister, after being told that several fires were started by humans, declared that it was an act of mass murdering and that who ever is found having started a fire will be charged as such. Ouch.
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

....just catching the prick will probably be a challenge though...can only hope they find those responsible. Some twat lights a bushfire every summer in Australia, it's insanity.

This is pretty incredible, but living in a fire prone area (Southern California) I can sympathize.
