Currently reading "Valis," by Philip K. Dick... about 90 pages in it's a bit more dry than the other 14 or so I've read by him. Haven't read "The Cosmic Puppets" though. I'll have to check that one out.

I can suggest some good P.K. Dick if you need any advice.

I'm trying to catch up to a good friend in California that's a HUGE Philip K. Dick fan, I've just finished reading "The Cosmic Puppets", which was REALLY cool. Read it in one sitting, but it's not that long.

Finished A Song of Ice and Fire series about 6 months ago...kind of wish I had waited until after watching the TV series cause it's kind of ruining my watching pleasure. "They didn't do that in the book!" or "The skipped a huge story line here!". Oh well, guess I should count my blessings that they are doing a massive series instead of trying to fit it into a 2 hour movie.

Anyway, then I read Lone Survivor in a weekend. I enjoyed it, not as much as the hype led me to believe. Finally watched the movie and they did it relative justice however wasn't a fan of the real Marcus Lutrell in the movie, kind of takes away from the person he portrays himself to be (humble, not looking for fame, telling the story for political awareness, etc).

Now I am several chapters into Assassin's Apprentice. If you like historical fiction with a bit of fantasy, this is really good so far.

I was reading Benjamin Franklin's autobiography. First fifty pages were pretty interested, but god can he ramble. I'll probably just read the journal he made at sea and pick up something else.

My all time favorite book is Atlas Shrugged, glad to see someone else mention it here

My father passed away from cancer this past year. The books Sum and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance made a big impact on me while dealing with the loss.

Just read several of the early Tom Clancy books. I grew up in the 80's and it was interesting to read about the former Soviet Union and all the spy games we played with them.
Next up is James Clevell followed by Ken Follett and I still have to read the whole Robert Jordan series.

"The Bravest Man" The Story of Dick O'Kane and the USS Tang. Fascinating account.

Just finished "Life" by Keith Richards.

Probably the two best books I read this past year.
