At least I can take comfort in the fact that all the under-30 knuckleheads who voted for vague promises of "Hope" & "Change" will be sending 50% or more of their paychecks to the Government for the rest of their lives very soon.Leave a comment:

The bill has more spending in it than all spending combined from the birth of the nation, all the way through the Carter administration.

FDR's spending policies did not fix anything is the point. he then raised taxes and interest rates which prolonged the agony.
any of this sound familiar with obama? spending like we are will raise interest rates on their own. are you ready to pay off all our debt? it's going to be on your back.Leave a comment:

gwb, to say FDR's actions were wrong or short of a proper fix is to say that Obama is the reason we went into a world depression, if that were to happen.
as to the rest your arguments, i hear what youre saying but my lack of details on said issues means we will just have to wait and see....Leave a comment:

This is far from a Hoover move! what the hell?
1. I have actually found myself a potential victim to the shortcomings of our medical system. Adjustments to what we currently have should fix what myself and wife are experiencing.
2. highly unlikely
3. agreed about the claim on number of jobs... but look around buddy. ready the headlines. smart grids are not far
4. if you only understood where the origins of strife against the USA comes from, youd think differently. we need to quit pushing our weight around and pissing everyone off.
5. you act like the bush cuts were affecting you. it amuses me to no end that people in trailors give a fuck about tax adjustments that dont concern them or raise their taxes. meaning you would see mccain signs in front of these trailers and hear them talk about how they dont support obama's tax hikes. joke is on you low income americans, mccain was the one raising your taxes. (this wasnt directed solely at you sleeve)
6. sorry you lost your job. but higher gas prices arent of great concern until they become murder like they were of fall last year. And thats not likely to happen again if we are able to ween ourselves off gas consumption like we are scheduled to.
7. once again, you have missed the statistics on how expensive education is. and the argument youve made currently is piss poor. here you are talking about losing your job and you want to talk about people can afford college? How about the cost of a worthy health care policy?
8. I am a pessimist about this one too... but if you'd read some of the sources, youd see the plan... it actually looks like it could work.
9. i have no ammo against your comment here, it just sounds like more rhetoric though.
10. How can you laugh when the details have been provided to the public? Its clear what the intentions are!
this is what i'm talking about, i had something to say despite your synicism. You'd think we need more years of Bush. Well if you see things truley as they way you have described, how about bringing some sources into play so you can educate me as to what is really going down. Because all i hear is blah blah blahLeave a comment:

oh man. go study FDR. gov't dpending did absolutely nothing to cure unemployment, job creation. or consumer spending. where do the people go for a job once the roads are fixed? this bill creates more gov't jobs, not private sector jobs. it kills wealth creation. it means any economic recovery will be much slower than normal. That is exactly what he is doing. The problem right now is that people aren't spending money. So the answer that Obama has come up with, and that FDR came up with during the Great Depression, it to spend government money. This money is going to create jobs which in turn will mean people spending more money. It's a pretty simple concept really.
if you all think you are not going to see a tax increase, you're incredibly blind. there aren't enough "rich" to tax to do what he wants. and those with the ability to do so will certainly make sure their income is hidden/deferred to be under that magic line.
simple question - do businesses pay taxes
simple answer - NO - you and i do thru increased product/service costs.
then...........drumroll.............lets talk carbon cap and trade.
never mind there's no proof carbon has anything to do with GW, or the new liberal mantra "climate change", or that the earth has been cooling for the last 11 years.
what are the effects of cap and trade
#1 and the biggest will be hugely increased energy costs that all will pay. you see, there is no alternative to coal/natural gas electricity. wind power is a joke, and solar is 10 yrs away.
this is a stealth tax on all of us. less money in your pocket to fix your e30.
and it will do nothing for the environment. businesses affected will migrate to other countries exempted/have less restrictive environmental laws. this has already happened in germany where steel workers have gone on strike to protest their own cap/trade. seems their companies fired their asses and moved out of the country.
sorry to rain on your parade, but your looking at a sub-par economic recovery coming with high unemployment. sub par economies generate less taxes, so guess who's going to make up the difference - all of us.
this is obama amateur hour at its finestLeave a comment:

And where are the pitfalls of a little expansion of gov? No I dont want them dictating "everything" but I'd like to see where it says that things are "going commie?"
How about Citi for example? The last two bail-outs didnt do shit. We dont need Citi to fail and if it takes 36% purchase from the US Treasury for the much needed coorporate shakeup, be my guest. America fails without regulation. Lack of it got us into this mess in the first place!!!
If what you see from Obama is fulfilment of promises and clear actions that are based on helping the common american, then how can you be so fearful that the governments heavy hand will settle on your neck and never leave? This is not a communist state, its a failing one. We need help.
I would like to see some proof of needless expansion of government.Leave a comment:

This is going to push the economy even further in the ground. Grab you tin foil hats and you ankles. This guy is as bad as Hover if not worse, stock up on beans and rice boys.
1: where are we going to get that 643 billion, and why dose the govt get to decide what my doctor can do it = Rationed health care not good.
2: Ok but when you lose your job because the taxes on your boss go up so he cant pay you any more dont cry to me.
3: Millions of jobs really come on, more like 1000's and the smart energy grid is shades of orwells 1984
4: Great let the extremest declare a victory, create a safe haven for them. Let a fledgling emerging democracy fall back to a Taliban style rule. The attacks here on our soil will increase.
5: Bull shit every one has a fair chance to make something for them selves, if you boss has more money (pays less in taxes) he create jobs, pay you more and so on. Look at what Regan did cut the taxes from the carter years on the top from 76% to 28% an then the economy started to come back in the early 80%
6: Hope you like High gas prices as Big oil will just pass the tax along to the end consumer. As well as cut jobs and up coming construction projects killing many many good, very good paying jobs (mine included)
7: there is enough money out there to go to college as its we dont need more people in college, we have a case of too many chiefs not enough Indians as it is now.
8: LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL AHHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHHAHHAH They have spent more money in a month that the rest of all government since the founding of this nation combined (non military). Now hes planning another 400B WTF, give me a break.
9: Yeah thats right that works, stifle the guys that control the markets where the value of our money comes from. Thats like shooting your self in the foot before a marathon.
10: LOL hahahahahahaahah is all I can say to that.
5a: The cap and trade thing, you will see the price of energy go through the roof. Its a tax increase on the populace. The energy companies are going to pass the costs on the end user, in the from of higher prices. The ones that can make it under the Cap are going to charge the same as the ones that have to buy credits, hello they are a business and will charge what they can get away with. I was reading a study where the average cost of energy for the average home will increase annually by 660 bucks. Then if the GOVT. needs to raise more funding they can lower the cap thus costing more to trade the credits and that will be passed on the consumer again.
Its a big shell game, here i will do this and not raise your taxes. But we will on these companies so you have to pay more for you products and services, so in essence your taxes go up but not in the form of a deduction off you check. You will have less money in your pocket and in your bank account after all this hits.Leave a comment:

This is a good read into understanding exactly the economic system that this budget is based on. It has worked in multiple other countries in time of need and it worked for us in our own.
Some act as if the budget is ignoring our problems when it is actually taking aim on the root causes.
Happiness cant be sustained in a delopidated home. Happiness can thrive in clean/maintained home.
Our environment should come first, not some country that doesnt wany democracy.Leave a comment:

It's kinda like deciding to remodel your home right after you just get hit with a credit card bill of the same magnitude. Why not get the economy back into shape, then work on fixing up the place? I agree wit
With that said, I don't agree with much of what's in the bill. It will needlessly expand the government and wont do much good for the country. I agree with the intent behind the bills (for the most part) but not the execution.Leave a comment:

I don't see anything wrong with any of the proposals. A meteorite is about to destroy earth and Obama is doing everything that is required to avoid the end of the world. I guess it is okay.Leave a comment:
