I see no problem with any of this. I would rather the government control our future. None of us seem to give a shit about the environment, or anyone else other than ourselves (the Republican view). Socialism isnt evil, communism is evil. People that bitch about socialism are the people that dont want to be told what to do, because they like doing the shit they shouldnt and no one to say anything about it.
I dont want the government to run my everyday life, but I want some tighter laws in place. We need to be a green country, stat. Period. We're supposed to be setting the example for the rest of the world.

Now we get to make other people's car payments in addition to their mortgages:
New GM CEO says more plants could close
By KIMBERLY S. JOHNSON and TOM KRISHER, AP Auto Writers Kimberly S. Johnson And Tom Krisher, Ap Auto Writers 1 hr 11 mins ago
DETROIT – General Motors Corp.'s new chief executive said Tuesday that more of the automaker's plants could close as part of GM's effort to meet new, tougher requirements for government aid.
In his first press conference as CEO, Fritz Henderson said he expects the company would "need to take further measures" in terms of plant closures. That's beyond the five plants the company said it would shutter when it submitted a restructuring plan to the government last month.
GM is likely to offer another buyout program to workers as it looks to cut labor costs, Henderson said.
President Barack Obama said Monday that GM's plan didn't go far enough. The company has 60 days to make more cuts and get more concessions from bondholders and unions or it faces bankruptcy.
Henderson said that although an in-court bankruptcy filing is not preferred, it is "certainly more probable" as he looked at what the company needed to do.
He also said on the fate of GM's Hummer brand will come in the next few weeks.
Henderson took over as CEO of GM Monday, after the Obama administration asked former CEO Rick Wagoner to resign.
Shares of GM fell 24 cents, or 8.8 percent to $2.46 in morning trading Tuesday.
In an effort to increase sales, GM launched its "Total Confidence" program which will make car payments for customers who lose their jobs through no fault of their own.
GM will make up to nine payments of $500 each to qualifying customers. Consumers must qualify for state unemployment to be eligible for the program.
The program starts April 1 and runs until April 30.
Ford Motor Co. also announced a similar program Tuesday, which will take over customer's payment of up to $700 a month for a year in the event of job loss.

I don't need to give it 6 Months. I'm going to base my opinion on his actions which have included historic spending and deficits, government takeover of the auto industry, mandatory "volunteerism", tax hikes, etc...
Think you'll be able to buy an SUV once an Obama led Government owns the auto industry? How about a Corvette? Any new high performance car?
Good luck with that.
You think it will end there?______________________

bullshit.
All you car lovers are gonna hate the next 3.9 years. I predict large, sweeping emissions/fuel consumption laws, and maybe even fuel usage testing to verify cars only use a predetermined amount of fuel in a given time. If not, to the scrapper. There are some other goofy things coming down the line as well.Comment

Bush was just playing the same shell game every politician has played since the New Deal, more of the same ( and even bigger ) will just cause a greater crash down the road. I didn't matter who got in office, this was inevitable. The only fix is to let it fail and pay the piper, it will have to happen.
and then I remembered...

I think the previous election just goes to show, if you put your vote in, shit happens. We now have a black president, and we're showing signs of socialism. It isnt my vote that put that into place, it was the rest of America that did.Comment

Well, thats the beauty of this country. I can say whatever the fuck I want, whenever I want to. Theres a fine line between violating civil liberties (Bush), and telling the man (capitolists) what the fuck to do (Democrats). Once that line is crossed (again), the people of the United States wont stand for it.
