      maybe they added that in an update or something, but when the program first came out they said something like "mount this perfectly level with the screen facing up, or the top of the phone pointing up". so if it was diagonal at all it wouldn't give the correct readings.

        i did however use this nifty GPS tracker thing that is free. it relays your location to an online site and puts it on a google map with your coordinates. if you leave it on while you are dirving it shows a bunch of little dots going down the road, showing your altitude and speed at each point. pretty cool i think.
        I think you misread something. The phone doesn't have to be perfectly vertical, but just has to be "square" with the direction of motion.
