Today at about 5PM I was getting onto 101S with a black 3rd gen SVT cobra (305hp version iirc) next to me. I brought it up to a whole 3.5k to accelerate to merge, I guess he heard my stock motor roar with the sound of a thousand krauts so he gunned it to get in front of me, then stuck his arm out the window and flipped me off.
I got behind him and passed him doing about 70 and put it in 5th, gave him a confused look as I passed him. Then I hear Mr Cobra downshift to try and pass me from way back. I saw him coming and unleashed all 110ftlbs of torque the M20 has on tap in 5th gear, he came roaring by me and instead of taking the opening to pass me, which he had more than enough space to do, he slammed on the brakes and stayed in his lane, getting pretty close to the car ahead of him. Me, doing a whole 75mph by now, went by him as he got behind me and flipped me off.
At the next opening in traffic he decided to take his chance and once again fly by me, all 32 valves of American V8 screaming in a pattern that can only be described as music... then merged straight into the right lane, hitting the brakes again. I waited another minute or two and eased my way ahead of another 10 cars or so before I got off on Carillo... the same exit he took. A few lights later he pulls up behind me again looking all mean and once again revved his 281 cubes in an attempt to get my attention. I gave him a little taste of Ultimate Driving Machine inline-6, then he looked at me and, yes, flipped me off.
Cool guy. Wish I got his number.
