why can't they wear proper protective gear? I wouldn't want to fall with that brown shirt and half helmet.

Does VTEC kick in when they pull you over?

I live in Slo, Cali and they actually went from the BMW bikes to Honda bikes. The cops here just like them better.

In here they ride undercover with a radar-camera-recorder - both in cars and bikes. They follow you for couple of minutes, pull you over and show you the movie. Sucks they don't give you popcorn.

Last time I got pulled over that way, I wanted to get a copy ;)

Got our equivalent of 300USD ticket and 20 points...

Bike cops exist mostly to hide in hidden spots and give people speeding tickets :(

I've never ever seen a bike cop in PA, besides actual bicycles.

The locals here drive unmarked crown vics with the darkest tinted windows I've ever seen. You can't even see their faces from the front.

the cops up here in mukilteo seriously hide in bushes with their bikes. its ridiculous. but its always hella funny to drive by and watch them jump out with the radar guns.

I think bike cops are great, they can respond faster and get into high traffic areas

I've seen people get away plenty of times. If their whole department is riding bikes during the summer who are they going to call it in to? These things are good for writing tickets and that's it.

The local police here have been on BMWs for many years. They caught a lot of criticism for it too because they were not USA made but they were replacing Kawasakis so the whole controversy was kind of silly. It turned out that the BMWs are outlasting the Kawasaki's something like 3 to 1.

Bingo! This is the only reason cops use motorcycles. They can write alot more tickets because they are hard to spot.
