Saddam was an asshole, but he was a contained asshole.), we largely ignored the people who had been funding and encouraging this crap.

Edit: The hell of it is that I actually agree that if we were going to fight a war, the only way to win it is basically to completely and utterly break the people and country. The problem is that that is a truly hideous thing to do and pretty much impossible in an era of live media coverage. If you're not going to fight decisively, you shouldn't fight at all.
So are you saying the better solution would have been to do nothing?
Im not saying i agree with the wars, just curious.

I think a response to 9/11 should have happened but we should have been out of there a long time ago.

And burned over a billion dollars per 9/11 victim.

Maybe it's just me, but the response seems to fail the reasonableness test.

Since they're in the mood perhaps AI should also arrest Bill Clinton for training/funding a known terrorist group and heroin trafficking organization otherwise known as the 'Kosovo Liberation Army' in order to overthrow the governments of three different countries.

I love you too farb. Yeah we have some animal cruelty Nazis (can I say Nazi still) in my county. I am just waiting because my dog has epilepsy, and someday someone is going to see him seizing and think we abuse him and because we dont have him on meds for it, we are ruining his life. Although the meds cause more carpet defecating, and can ruin his happy go lucky personalty, and our vets that are in the family tell us not to so long as its not affecting his quality of life there is no need, others may not see it that way :(

Hey sleeve, the term your analogy was going for isn't "War Crime", it's "Animal Cruelity", and is punishable with one year, and $1,000 fine in your fine state if it's found to not be covered under "accepted training and discipline methods". Just Sayin'.;)

Yup the thing you have to remember is the taliban knocked the shit out of the Russians for 10 years till they gave up and went home. WE trained them how to fight like this............................ And we know the Rooskies are not big on pulling punches. All that aside, if we were to reinstate the carpet bombing indiscriminately I think we would have seen much more positive results about 8 years ago

Yea, I agree with all of that, However I feel by sticking to the "high road" we tout so often, and the constraints of the rules of war, we have inevitably doomed ourselves to failure.
no matter the arsenal at our (Your) disposal, the level of training, or the technology, our military employs, we are at a point where a bunch of uneducated bums from the middle east can defeat the western world with some fancy pipe bombs and scary videos of people being be-headed because we are hamstringing ourselves…

while at home nearly half the population decries our behavior as barbaric, and chants "we want our soldiers home today"

I guess I don't see why GWB is now being treated like a war criminal when it isn't even like he dropped the gloves, and I couldn't even stand the guy.

    I digress,
    that is a great billboard.
