Lastly, one more truth becomes evident upon recognizing that demographics are the main factor in criminality: even if you do believe in gun control, imposing it federally and applying a one-size fits all standard is ridiculous. In terms of people and crime, there’s a world of difference between towns in New Hampshire or Vermont, with their England-level murder rates, and cities such as East St. Louis, IL, or Detroit, which rival El Salvador in citizen lethality. You can make gun control the same everywhere, but you can’t change the fact that people will be very, very different.

I find reductio ad absurdum plus snark to be an unbeatable combination.

Right, armed psycho with a gun will automatically be thwarted by any do-gooder with a CCW amidst the chaos. There definitely could be no outside factors preventing them from doing so, or the more likely, them getting their ass to safety instead of playing hero.

Armed individuals may stop a shooter here and there, but you best bet that gun is being aimed right at you as soon as you challenge them. We're talking pistols here vs. someone who's not stable and hoped up on all sorts of adrenaline, chances are they're getting off a shot or two in your direction.

And if someone tries to make a mass shooting with an armed bystander nearby, it ends up NOT being a mass shooting!

Why shouldn't a person be allowed to get help AND keep all their stuff?

Citing WaPo as an authority on gun rights = LOL

Yes, there is wide agreement on the generality, but many reconsider when the details of implementation are revealed. I find it notable that: "respondents who prioritized gun rights were more than four times as likely as those backing gun control to donate money to an organization that takes a position on gun policy. More than four in 10 gun rights supporters (42 percent) reported participating in at least one type of political activism on the issue, compared with 25 percent of those prioritizing gun control.
    "

Most of which don't have a firm understanding of what that really entails.

What would stop a nurse or receptionist or pharmacist at the Obama care approved facility with a mother jones app on their phone from calling in something similar because I have a O/C pistol on my hip and picked up my scrip of prozac for my cat (yes it works for curbing pissing around in some cats) and the wife's Wlebutrin (sp) scrips.

I believe you laughed off farbins similar "hypothetical" not all that long ago and less than a month latter the 7th up holds a very similar REAL case.
Yes, I laughed it off and I'm laughing off your even dumber hypothetical. She was seeking counseling with her psychiatrist not picking up a prescription.

So even though I've said that YES I think people should be able to own guns, that NO I don't think all guns should be taken away, and that REASONABLE laws such as not allowing felons or the mentally ill to buy guns, having universal background checks, licensing and training requirements, and waiting periods, are the only laws I support... You think I'm saying the exact opposite?

I can't tell if the two of you are high, or just really dumb.

Look, saying "I support background checks on gun sales" doesn't make me any more anti-gun than saying "I support stopping at stop signs" makes me anti-car.
