Just out of curiosity, do you have any more pictures of your wheels? On the car or not doesn't matter much.

Umm... I'm waiting for some better pictures. I don't have any good ones that show the wheels. I need to take a shoot soon.

Steel wool worked well for me and the guy who helped me always uses steel wool. I dunno it's just easy and scrubs the old paint off really well.

Dont use steel wool on bottlecaps, might rough it up too much, sandpaper will be fine

Since when is steal wool more rough than sandpaper?

I did 2 cans of primer and one can of base and one can of clear. I used duplicolor wheel paint I believe.

The stripper takes the paint off the wheel, although you don't need ALL of it off, just smooth the wheel out. The steel wool roughs it up, I sprayed the stripper on with a spray bottle and then used steel wool to rub the paint off.

And yeah, I painted with the tires on and masked the tires off. I did a bad job though and put stripper on a rag and rubbed off the paint that got on the tires.

It's just bottle caps dude, if you don't like the results try again!

I used four jackstands. Steel wool, some aircraft paint stripper, a lot of scrubbing. Then got the surface fairly smooth (My wheels have HUGE gouges in them ) to get the paint off.

Then I did 3 coats of white primer. 2 coats of base. 2 coats of clear. I'm pleased. I've heard not to get the cheapest shittiest paint too.

do you have 4 jackstands?

-get all wheels off
-sand each wheels fairly well (at least scuff em up so the paint will stick
-WASH them VERY well..
-dry
-tape off tires
-lay down 1-2 coats of primer
-1-2 coats of color
-1-2 coats of clear (if desired)
-let dry and re-install
