Finally got a working 179 ECU. Plugged it in and shot some video with my iPhone:



That was only 3500rpms by the way. :p

i bet his is jailbroken. the only way you can get 3.0 right now is if you are a developer and pay for the $99 devkit.

what was the trick to get the 6th cylinder working again? heavy oil? or was it just dry cylinder wall causing no compression?

Turns out that there was a variety of things going on.

The ECU I purchased had an eBay chip. Not my preference, but I figured what the hell.. I needed the 179 anyways. Well that chip was the reason why the car was not firing on all 6 cylinders.

These videos are with a stock 179 ECU.

But that left us with the compression test issue. I went from 10w-30 to 20w-50 and I also let the car sit overnight with Mystery Oil on the combustion chambers. Bumped compression from 50-60psi to 130-150psi among the cylinders. :)
