It was actually lowered about 8" to start but I couldn't take corners...driving a bus is totally wierd.. you are sitting ontop of the front wheels so turning is random @ first... also while it was that low the wheels would bite the fender with the body roll and weight of passengers up fornt...I also had to cut out 4" of the front beam to make it so the wheels would tuck inside the fenders!
Are you still looking for pictures? I can dig some up!

Here are some that I took at the picnic a few years back.

i sure hope to make the picnic again this year...
The vw will be written up in a few weeks... just dialing it in with my mechanic...
I took a 1600 type 1 vw motor and bored it out to a 2165..and lowered it about 6"....disk brakes all the way around.....narrowed the front beam 4"....
it a real beastComment

yes those are 15" schnitzers... I was lucky to find a special set of factory gunmetal rims... They have a wierd coating for"winter use" I havent been able to find another set of these on any other car...I went from 17" to 15" to make the ride a little softer... I am running H&R race coilover which stiffened up the ride a lot... i really enjoy the 15"'s over the 17"....
