me getting arrested for my burnout with my e30

Really it is more that high power density (hp/liter) while still remaining "streetable" and reliable is an impressive engineering feat. To the driver of the car and in any other category, it means diddly squat. The F20c could have been replaced with an all-aluminum V6 and come out with more torque, similar or even better mileage (AP1s get like 18 city) and similar weight and weight distribution. But Honda needed to be Honda so they decided to use a tiny engine that revs to all hell. Nothing wrong with that, it's a fun car and the F20 has good boost potential, but from an engineering standpoint they probably could have done better. Don't quote me on this, but as I recall the F20 really isn't all that light either.Statistically speaking, you are right. BUT hp/l a car that can make 100hp/l is a more impressive design than a car that makes 50hp/l. The new Ferrari whatever claims it is the first production car to make 127hp/l from natural aspiration. I don't know if this is true or not.Leave a comment:

I don't know if this is true or not.I would just like to chime in and say one thing: I think someone mentioned HP/L before when we were talking about Hondas. This statistic literally means nothing. A 200 lb, 100 hp, 1 liter engine has no advantages over a 200lb, 100 hp, 2 liter engine. A more accurate statistic to use would be hp/lb or hp/mpg or something along those lines.
Although I find it funny that some BMW guys rag on Hondas when their engine design principles have many parallels (or at least they used to). The f20 in an s2000 is a high revving, low displacement, NA engine with a lot of power up top. The s54 (and many M engines) is a high revving, low displacement, NA engine.
Hondas can be good in their own right but they could never compare to an e30 in driving feel and affordability (for me at least, show me a Honda I could buy rust free and running for $700 and have it last a long time)Leave a comment:

Dude, he just made a really funny joke and you let it get right by you! He was implying that doing burnouts and revving in parking lots was a form of racing and such, yada yada, so on and so forth. It made me laugh...Leave a comment:

I'm lost to whatever your rambling off aboutDon't worry - I was told the 'Racing' in Mall Racing is just a marketing slogan - like 'dingaling' or 'queef'. You're definitely right though... 0-3 miles per hour is a prerequisite for running in this class. My rulebook is outdated and from the Smithaven Mall, anyway... or at least the Panda Kitchen coupons are expired. I have seen safety stewards and corner/flag workers will allow lower speeds but usually only when early braking without use of crossovers to the subwoofer.
Here is a picture of last season's totally kewl/phat Jamba Juice Championship:

. My only guess is that you think the op was warming his tires up getting ready for a race in a parking lot???? But all he was doing was showing off with tire smoke...

In CA burnouts are cited under "exhibition of speed" which is a subset of the street racing code, similar penalties as a DUI, although they aren't usually enforced to that degree, you can serve significant jail time, big fines, and it's a misdemeanor, if you own the car they can impound your car for 30 days, just a good idea to not do them anywhere.
In Oakland sideshows were huge a few years ago, a few times a year one of the cars went somewhere it shouldn't and smoshed a few of the instigators and onlookers into pine box filler, so the cops take it pretty seriously, I have a friend who used to build crazy fast 60's mustangs when they were cheap, he was doing something similar when the tires heated up, got traction, shot him over the curb across an intersection and into the next parking lot, just luck no one got hurt.Leave a comment:

You may be semi right, but wheres the tq? Non existent. tq is very nice for a DD I miss my eta's for this sole reason.Think about it for a second, its a daily driver, which means you don't always need your max power every waking second maybe you want to go for MPG, so keep it in the low band, you don't need 600hp to go from stop at a red light to 35mph..... But if you do want some extrapower rev it to 6k. If you really wanted to you could program Vtec to kick in at 1.5k but that would kill your MPG. The car was designed to be a sporty DD, not a race car...Leave a comment:
