    Homework help please.

I'm doing a reverse engineering project for one of my classes and need to make a parts list and diagrams. The assignment is for something with less than 30 parts so I looked around the room and decided on my snowboard bindings, trouble is I can't draw at all and they need to be pretty concise diagrams.

so my question is does anyone know how to take a picture like this

and turn it into something more like this?

basically i need to take out all the color and just leave outlines of all the parts. anything helps, thanks guys..

Get Adobe Illustrator, learn how to use it, use it to trace the photo to get a vector.

whoa even with my student discount of 80% with adobe It's still $120, don't really have the money to drop that for one project. Any more economic ways?

Lol. So what is the actual method you are suppose to render the parts in? Or does that not matter for this? I'm assuming you're in HS since you're not whipping out the drafting board or making it in inventor really quick.

It's for a college engineering class, just a lower level one. Pretty open on how we do it since it's our first project, which is why it only has to have 30 or less parts. I'm mostly just trying to get out of drawing it since i can't draw at all.

If you "reset your computer" after downloading a "virus" from that site, I think software piracy might be a bit beyond you.

FYI, this is a good one: http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5297...LLUSTRATOR_CS4

Your school must have this software for you to use on campus.

nope, i still go to a community college. I'm seriously considering dual enrollment at OSU for exactly this reason.

So you didn't taken any drafting classes in HS? If you don't like to draw, engineering class is probably not going to be your friend.

Just draw it by hand. It's not like you'll be free handing it. You use t-squares, triangles, compasses, ect.

Also, for future reference, don't download any torrents unless you read through comments and make sure it is good. If it hasn't been commented on, don't DL it. It will take you more time to DL a good copy of adobe, figure out how to use the program, and finish it than to draw it by hand.

What are you wanting to major in?
