    official art & design thread.

seeing there's a healthy community of artist and designers on here, it sure would
be nice for a space where we could discuss current topics, ideas, and different works
of art, across the various disciplines that are under the art and design umbrella.

so feel free to talk about, Graphics, Illustration, Product, Industrial, Transportation,
    Fine art, Architecture, etc.

    to start the thread....

I came across this amazing photo shoot thats out to prove that you don't need the
latest and greatest photographic equipment to achieve great quality images.

link to fstoppers for full post and final images.

    im loving Olivia!

exactly! its cool to have personal pages and such, but its a nice place for us all to keep
up with each others artistic endeavors, aswell as feed each other with inspiration

zLandrum - do you work at a studio? firm? the slaughter house studios bit is clean,
but too busy for a logo, why was it rejected?

Dude - stats on the photo?

this is a shot i did some months back for a class. it seems pretty straight forward,
my challenge here was to compose a 360 degree shot, sans tripod, and stitching it
myself in the computer, was fun.

I work for a t-shirt company for the 9-5, and do a good bit of freelancing on the side... everything i post here is freelance as the t-shirt company i work for does Fraternity and Sorority shirts, so i don't make much cool stuff during that. The slaughter house logo was for a guy's photo studios (his name in Rocky Slaughter) it was rejected for the same reasons you said, too busy, and chicks were scared by it.. i can understand.

Do you know Photoshop stitches images together to make panos? I just realized as my buddies watched me manually try to line up some photos I took the other day to create a pano. One button in photoshop, days work done in seconds. And pshop did it better than I could!

yea it does, but that was part of the challenge, plus photochopz would have gotten
confused i believe because i overlapped doing the full 360 degrees, and vertically
there are three frames. In the end alot was cropped, you can imagine all the oblong
and ragged edges that came after stitching that bitch. the full image is about
12'x4'. its still a desire of mine to get a full size print.

Yeah I'm sure it came out better and was more creative. I just didn't know until recently and when I found out it blew my mind.

i was more blown away when i figured out the command+tab shortcut to toggle between
applications, one of the best shortcuts i have ever learned. makes life a million times easier when
                          working through creative suite.

One of my more successful designs during my school days. Sketch concept.

3D, a lot of the design came together in Alias.
