What I meant by it wont work is that the Houndstooth and other patterns like it only work because it is the same exact shape repeating itself, and fitting into itself, you cant really do that with a car...

When looking carfully at the houndstooth pattern, you can notice that the black shape is the exact same as the white shape. This is the magic of that type of pattern. So, if drawing an e30 shell, it has to be done so that the white shape is also the same as the black shape.

It doesn't have to be an E30 silloute. Anything that makes a houndstooth pattern (or close) that reveals itself to be BMW or e30 related when you inspect it closely would be cool.
