    80's DTM

    Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone here knows where i can buy DVD's of footage of the early DTM years, the Golden Age. Is there such a thing out there?

Something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gw-AxiVqihM but lots more of it :D

    Thanks,

    Victor

Only e30 m3 period videos you can buy (or at least could a few years ago) are the last year or two of BTCC and the British Saloon Car Championships.

The DTM & STW from back then were never really offered on video.

Most of the ones I named were produced by Duke Video.
Were available through the usual racing merchandise places.

I've ordered from them. You can e-mail them in English and get a reasonable reply.

it just does not get any better than that. You dont see that kinda of BALLS OUT PUT IN ALL ON THE LINE, way past the razors edge lap after lap racing anywhere anymore.

Australian v8 supper cars are about as close as it gets anymore.

80's DTM is like Group B rally, its the epitome of motor-sport the culmination of technology, coupled with the raw competition, where the drivers knew when the green flag dropped it may be the last thing they did. And they were OK with that,

I think that leads to the what is so great about watching old footage of those 2 series drivers were fearless, and all that mattered was winning and getting around that guy in front of you. It showed and seems that nearly all series now a-days just seem watered down and half assed in comparison

Well said! I love watching old DTM footage. I'm stoked about BMW getting back into DTM, but even watching this past season it isn't like the DTM of old. I saw a major record a while ago where it knocked out about half the pack, no one was hurt, but still the cars are generally always on point in turns.

^^^That and the 240 bodied Volvo and a Sierra Cosworth... we knew them as the Merkur Xr4ti over here in the States... That was the best in Motorsport Racing since F1 in the 60's and 70's. Incredible stuff... that's why I'm building one, with a V8, of course, Lol!

I'm not a mustang fan but the DTM Mustang at 4:22 is pretty sick.

I still love all the E30 and 190e's better.
