BBC documentary on the Killer Years of F1

For those F1 fans out there....

During the early growth years of F1 drivers were quite expendable. John Cooper turnned F1 inside out when he introduced the mid-engined car. From there, the British "garaginistas" like Colin Chapman stepped in and dominated F1. Meanwhile the mortality rate grew until Jackie Stewert said "enough is enough"

BBC did a fabulous documentary on this, and it hasn't been shown in the US, at least not yet. No problem, You Tube has it.

Warning; there is footage you've likely never seen before, and some of it is pretty strong. Its what the real world of F1 was like in the 60's-70's.

    Four 15 minute segments.

Good watch. Incredible how dangerous the sport was.

"Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed."

      John F. Kennedy
