    Watanabes Anyone

Okay so my bimmer is in the shop. And today i had to buy new tires for the cadillac and it got me thinking. I need some winter tires for my bimmer. Then I remember that i dont have 2 sets of rims. So i need rims aswell. So for tires i will go with the hapalkettaques <-----(BUTCHERED THAT ONE) or blizzaks. Now for rims i was thinking light so 14" watanabe Rs8's from those old AE86's (83-86 corollas). I have 2 different photoshopped images on someone elses car. The gold/bronze is more appealing to me because i have a white cabrio with tan top, but the silver is a nice toned down look. Your thoughts or ideas.

    Here are the pics:

    What do you guys think?

i think it may also be the car that he put them on... not the greatest choice.

don't think they are the exact wheels, but very similar

well they would be going on my white cabrio. Much like this one. Except my interior and top is tan so i would most likely go with a bronze or silver rim. I think bronze would be awesome.

As far as i know the REAL watanabes are extremely expensive, but i can find them from some drifters in cali for cheap. Konig makes replica rims called "rewinds". Here's a pic of the konig version.

The 14" ones weigh a cool 13.5 pounds. I guess these are more aesthetic rims than anything. If i want some really light track rims i will prolly buy some rotas cuz they are super light and cheap as well.

P.S. I don't know for sure if these are lighter than the weaves or the bottle caps, i just know they look nicer, to me atleast.

just fyi, the rewinds are currently only available in 4x114.3 with 0 or -2 offset. the 4x100's haven't been released yet, or if they'll even be made, but if they do, count on 40 offset for sure.

well i did find quite a few people selling watanabes. Plus ebay has tons of them on there. Rotas are looking better on the wallet, i just think the watanabes give it a more classic feel.
