Meh, all ads are annoying. I could greenlight R3v in AdBlock but I would still never be tempted to click on one. The sponsors worthy of receiving my business are the ones I read about in people's actual posts, e.g. Blunttech.

its not really all about clicking them.
pretty sure adsense works on a view/click ratio.
like view is 1 and click is 8, get me?

so simply just being on a page with an ad you are supporting r3v

            and people,

remember, if your ever going to shop at any of these places anyways, it will always benefit the forum owners if you just use their links to get to the page, then buy something, every little bit helps, especially if your gonna buy something anyways.

i use them when i buy stuff, its rare b/c im just below the poverty level, but i would still do it if i won the megalotto

            just sayin.

That logic does not work if the ads are not displayed. Sure you buy stuff from the sponsors. The top banner ads pay for 20% of the sites annual operating cost.

Trust me I did the give away R3V with no ads for years model.. at that time it was $3500 a year.. I did it for many years....

              You do the math.

Its already a free community, the top banner ad is companies I trust, the bottom is Google Adsense.

You want to support the site? let the banners live. I don't block a single ad because I know how this all works. Stuff like AdBlock just steals from forum owners who keep sites like this running. My god if you want awful advertising hit up any other automotive forum.

If you wanna see ads, go to E30tech, seriously. Part of the reason I don't go there, gotta scroll down a page of ads to get to content.

                    Thanks James! <3

Fair enough. It was wrong of me to publicly advocate blocking the ads. I'm not going to enable them but I'd gladly contribute a few bucks to keep this place running. I'd rather not have to look at animated Tire Rack flash banners to do my part.

Um, yeah. And I don't have to so why would I? I don't watch TV because of the 15 minutes of garbage interspersed into every show.
