Visited Louwman Museum, lots of pics

I visited the Louwman Museum in The Hague yesterday since it was rainy and I had nothing much important to do. If you're ever in the area it's well worth the effort, they had a pretty big collection and you can spend a few hours there easily. And a lot of the cars had historic race or rally stickers, so it's cool to know they still get driven like they're supposed to.

The main reason I went was the temporary exhibition of the Silver Arrow Mercedes-Benzes they had, those are in the first few pics. As far as captions go I'm only going off what I remember so apologies if you'd like to know what serial number any car was.

What's left of a streamlined MB. Construction looked exactly like an airplane, and extremely light weight.

Mercedes W154 cockpit (1938 nazi rocket)

Far to near: W25, W125, W154, W165 (smaller engined version of the W154 specifically built for the Tripoli Grand Prix)

    That W165, 1.5 liter V8, 280ish horsepower.

    The W25.

    The rest of the collection:

Regal Colonial Coupe. This one was lowered. They put the suspension on top of the frame for "sport" handling.

Jaguar D-type. Pretty! And won the 1957 Le Mans race.

    A lonely 1938 BMW 328

1939 Aston Martin Lagonda Le Mans works car

Lagonda M45R that won the '35 Le Mans 24h.

I was there a few years ago, went with a friend who has no interest in cars what so ever and he enjoyed it! Got pics here http://s727.beta.photobucket.com/use...ibrary/Louwman

I have always like those vintage cars of all types but that 1938 BMW 328 is my winner of those pix. That Type 57 "Grand Raid" Gangloff is a close 2nd. Thanks for sharing.
