Nikon d40+ wu-1a compatible?

Looked around, can't find a definite answer.

I just purchased my first dslr(Nikon d40). I do not own a computer, I've been using my iphone/iPad for everything the past few years and sold my laptop. Now that I have this camera I want to get my photos onto my iphone/iPad. Will the wu-1a work with my camera?

D40 doesn't support wifi, most people use eye-fi cards to wirelessly transmit files on theses.
