That is actually the Solitude Ring, located just outside Stuttgart, not the Nürburgring.

The photo was taken at this spot in July 1964 in the pouring rain. Seven cars crashed on the first lap. Note the absence of guardrails and the big trees!

If you have more than 3 gigs then there is no performance loss.
