The lighting is too dark in that pic... those kopis will look like they're nogaro if I just shop them into your pic. Lightening them in software will make them look bad...

Anyone else want to give it a try but keep the lower black trim above the sill?

what is it that corvallis did? Whole mtech 2 kit?

The bad color match is mostly the lighting

is there no way to make the rear valence sit inward just a little more? all the early model PB swaps turn out like that. not that it looks bad, it just looks...not right.

otherwise i love how the small tails look with the PB.

Well its an Mtech 2 replica. The real mtech 2 valence fits over the stock valence so it has to come out further than the stock valence on mtech kitted cars. Since i have a regular plastic bumper over it it looks out of place to have the valence come back that far but if it was a mtech bumper it would look perfectly normal.

Basically it looks different because i have a mtech 2 valence on an ordinary plastic bumper.

For example look at my post on the first page where i put up a pic of darins car under the pic I quoted of my car.

Darins is a true mtech 2 so look where the valence stops in the back in reference to where the tail lights line up. Its the same exact spot as mine.

The guys who have early arches like Eric Gillies and Backtail 69 have theirs sit even more flush because of the shortened bumper sides.

but theirs fit properly because of the "late model"ness of their cars, not because they are mtech cars. that DS car you posted is a late model car also. whether it is mtech2 or not, the valence is made to fit on that car.

so if you could put a non-mtech valence on your car, it would look normal? isnt that the problem though, that the rear valence isnt really possible to swap? is that why you used a tech2 valence in the first place?

sorry for all the questions, but i am genuinely curious about what the deal is here.

1: the early convertible is a bit of a hybrid in that it has the late model arches that make plastics pretty much a direct swap but it has early model body work. (no valence and small tails) So its kind of confusing to type over internet. Maybe if we greet at a meet sometime.

2: If i welded on the late model valence like Josh anderson did then it would look like every late model car just with early tails. It is possible to swap but i did the tech 2 valence because its different and it makes it so i dont need to cut and weld my body.

3: Its cool, im glad someone is that interested.

this is what i needed to know. thanks a lot. So if you had the tech2 bumper, it would appear as though the valence were in a bit more, yes?

I suppose it would as the mtech bumper is bulkier than the stock plastic. The mtech 2 bumper skin and valence are one piece though.
