If you have heat coming through the middle vents, something is wrong.
The middle row of vents SHOULD only have air flow when a.) the AC is on or b.) the vent (outside air) is open.

I was thinking the same thing. It would appear that YOUR E30 has something wrong.

Just speaking from experience. I COULD be mistaken. You are more than welcome to disagree with me. That is just what I have found to be true on all of our E28s and E30s. I always understood that when the middle slider is open, it is letting in outside air through the middle vents. Perhaps I'm getting the heater controls in the different models mixed up. Who knows. EITHER way, with heat at the floor and heat at the windshield.... is it really neccesary in the middle?

Since I'm not going to have AC, and I hate the center vents because I hate hot air blowing in my face (I can't breathe), the floor vents and dash are going to be more than enough for me.

BTW, I wasn't trying to be rude, sorry if it sounded that way.

I would ditch the center vents on my car but in sunny so cal, where the 100's arent that uncommon, i think id fucking pass out without SOME kind of airflow on my face. Even if it is warm air from outside.
