I need good quality pictures of the underside of the seat base, specifically the part where the bracket hardware mounts, clearly showing the bolt holes. I also need measurements of the placement of the bolt holes, between the holes on each side of the seat, and also from the holes across the base of the seat.

So if you've got Recaro seats lying around that you haven't installed, please help me out and get this information for me!

Maybe we should charge $125 for this info.....

So now you're getting an attitude because I wouldn't give you the design specs and measurements of the kits we're going to be making to sell? We got the basic design idea from another member here, and further refined and perfected the design, spending quite a bit of time on it and getting it perfect.

The only thing I'm asking here is to see if the layout of the bolt holes is the same across the board for all Recaro models. And the price we're going to be selling ours for is less than half of what Recaro and other companies charge for their kits. Besides, you already told me you have the same seats as I do. I don't need any information from you.

ZM, those look pretty nice! I like the design they used. You got them second hand from another member for $240 shipped? Damn, I hope that was for both seats. Our kit will be half that.

I appologize for my sarcasm. I just thought we are all trying to help one another out.

That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm developing a way for E30 owners to not only use the VERY attractive VW Recaros in their cars, but sell a kit for E30 owners to be able to put what appears to be just about any model of Recaro seat in their cars for a fraction of what Recaro is charging for their kit.

So not only am I trying to save the E30 community a pretty significant amount of money, I'm also trying to make money for myself. I'm also creating another product to add to the aftermarket for the E30, one that is made by hand by members of the community. If that's not trying to help one another out in your eyes, I'm sorry. I'm very excited at the prospect of making and selling a new product to the E30 community, that's why I'm doing this.

they were second hand but new in the box. I was told people could make kits, but I got tired of driving around with borrow seats.

That's understandable. We should have 4 kits with hardware ready to sell by next week.

Ours are a lot shorter too.

ZM Blue Devil, what is the measurement from the center of one hole to the other? If it's 9-1/4", our brackets should work.

Thinking about it though, we could drill the hole spacing to what ever was needed for any given seat. We would just need the info from the person with the seats first.

The stock Recaro slider's are better. You can grab from either side and move your seat. And use a wedge engineering base. They are real strong. MY 2ยข.
