I have always wanted to rally my iX but I cant do that to my beautiful car. Most ive done was a gravel road where rednecks started throwing shit at me the second time around because I made so much noise the first time it got them off there asses.

don't forget folks, the 2wd rear drive e30 m3 did quite well in the Group A in the 88/89/90's...
there is a Ford Mustang that runs group 2 here in the states that is VERY fast. also we run against a 2wd volvo 240 with a monster turbo 4pot that runs in the top 5 to 10 of every event it runs in, that is overall not in class ;)
this car won the WRC Corsica event
Don't count out the rear drive cars, they can and are very fast on gravel. Just takes some skilled hands and feet haha! If you havn't seen the youtube vidz of the Bastos m3, you havn't seen an M3 do work! haha
I almost found a cheap E30 to make into a rally car but it has a broken timing belt on it and I don't want to deal with that. This thread makes me want to rally an E30 soo bad.
I don't know if these guys from Boston are still trying to sell their 318is rally car, but it's still listed on rallyclassifieds.com. They have run it Rally New York.
Three weeks from now, July 17-18, we'll be making our first foray into the US rallying scene with the Nissan 240SX at the New England Forest Rally in Maine.
Come look us up!
There is a 1991 318i listed in the entries for this weekend's (Fri & Sat) New England Forest Rally.
Rally HQ and start/finish is at the Sunday River Ski Resort, near Bethel, Maine. Hop in your car and come cheer for the BMW, or for us in the Nissan 240SX. Here's a spectator guide describing the various locations to watch from.

I've actually driven that car a few years ago, briefly. It's a beautiful build, with some pretty expensive parts and something like four sets of OZ rally wheels. If it's been well maintained, it's worth the asking price.

Sadly the 318i was a no-show. But we had an eventful time in the Nissan 240SX. See stories and in-car video in this thread on specialstage.com.
