I ordered a brand-new act, but it hasn't come in yet. FedEx says there's a weather delay at the Memphis hub.

I'm assembling some pics and some copy. Hope to have something up by at least the end of this weekend.

The rally car runneth!

Through exhaustive electrical nightmares, including the swapping of the entire harness and every single wire in the car, the rally car is once again running. It sounds like sh*t, but dammit, the thing runs!

With the extensive help of R3Vers, psyber_Optix, FredK and thejlevie, who seemingly has a connection to the inventor of the E30, and the mobile trauma unit of Bill Doyle, the car can now fire under its own power.

I was 'this' close to rolling the car in the street, setting it on fire and taking up golf.

It has taken nearly a month to get the engine to turn its pistons, but dammit, it's alive. I haven't heard that glorious M20 run in more than nine months. It's like a re-birth.

Of course, it now has a busted lifter and a leaky radiator, but that's all gravy compared to what we just went through.

Martin and I are in Newfoundland, spending the week before the event scouting the stages. Registration is this Saturday. Sunday the event starts with the Prologue day, then Monday to Friday we hit the stages in earnest.

Stories and photos of our adventures so far are being posted in the MCO forum, here.
