Any E30 rallyists here?

I miss being in MI for Sno*Drift. I haven't made it to a stage rally since I moved to NC. One year I ran a Toyota Matrix at LSPR and Sno*Drift.

What year was that? Haven't actually been able to make it to Sno*drift myself, but I have been to LSPR the last 4 years now.

in process of turning my 87 325is into sutable rally car, it wont me the rallcross championship for stock RWD this year :)

what do you guys run for tires?

im running snows for now but i'd like to fit a more agressive tread on the car in the future

I'm running Gislaved Nord Frosts (aka General Altimax Arctics in the US).

I'd rather have some rally tires, but I blew my tire budget for this car on some Star Specs for the euroweaves, so I could autocross it too :)

I run star specs in the not winter, and nokian hakka's in the winter. best of both worlds.

I used to rallyx in SAAB 900's with DCrally about 10 years back. There were all sorts of cars from mighty max's to a karmann ghia with a trick brake setup which would lock up either the left or right side.

Not many e30's though. The one guy who did have one also had a s50 powered 318ti. The bolivian rally (rolly) team was around then too at SCCA events before they went off on their own.

I was just looking at last year's standings and it looks like there is still a Mighty Max running in M2 class (but not winning it).

e30s won DC SCCA stock and prepared 2wd class last year (the same e30 with 2 drivers). This year there will be at least 2 more e30s there (mine and Spencer/Stuart's).

For MR this season, it's a 2nd gen RX7 that is the car to beat.

Hakka RSi's. they can be hard to tell apart without looking at the sidewall. 32 psi all around.

they're probably more useful than the sealed beams above them - I never run the lows with them off.
