rally in either rwd or ix e30 would be a ton of fun.. i wanted to do this with my ix and had the taller springs, konis etc + don't forget the rally lights.. i just didn't find enough events in this area plus i don't have the time nor disposable income to do track events + rallies and maintain 2 separate cars for it, neither of which would be daily drivers. I'd still like to do it at some point though. Do it, it will be a blast!!
Wow. I am now supremely jealous of those roads! We don't have too many snow/ice covered roads for too long here in Rhode Island. And not a single mountain to speak of anywhere!
My comment on the geometry was that the rear end would have some reletively funky geometry if you raised it up too much. I don't think the front would actually be that bad. I guess on second thought I don't know how high you'd really want to be for 'everyday' rallying.
The gutting process has begun already. I'm cleaning the thing out and selling off the bits to put back toward the cage, seats, harnesses, helmet, etc. All that's left inside is the headliner and rear deck thingy (where the speakers are). It has an LSD, but I have no idea what the gears are (the little tab has rotted off).
If I can keep it whole for four more years, I can run it in the historic class in Rally America with the old Escorts and the like.
