Bill Caswell and Ben Slocum compete in the WRC Mexico event with their E30. This is the definition of awesome.

Professional motorsport is a cold, hard place. If you want to run with the big dogs, you can't just build a car in your mom's garage and show up, right? Wrong. One guy did just that. Here's his amazing story.

Cool! That's a great rally. Read stories and watch our in-car video of each stage from last year's NEFR rally in the Nissan 240SX. http://www.specialstage.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=37866

Thanks, I've got a cage guy (see previous post).

Your sig photo, are those OZ wheels? I have a set that have black interiors with brushed aluminum exteriors that I want to have sprayed white. And those vents at the top, are those the ones that truckers use on their doors?

Your setup looks pretty sweet by the way. What do you use for brakes and suspension? I'm still stock at the moment...

For a cage, try calling autopower and find a local dealer

Ice racing looks pretty cool. I'll have to try that next winter.

    Well here are some updates:

The car is at Mountain Motorsports in Lawrence, MA right now getting its cage put in. It's been stripped, seam-welded and started to be reinforced (strut towers first). The tube is being delivered this Wednesday and hopefully, installation will begin this weekend.

My first stage rally goal is the New England Forest Rally this July 16 and 17 in Bethel/Newry, Maine and Berlin, NH (www.newenglandforestrally.com).

If you want to check out my site, which is kind of still under construction, it's www.slapdashracing.com. I hope to add some build pics in the next couple of days.

I rallyx / ice race / HPDE the crap out of my car.

I don't care about the surface. If I can drive balls to the wall, I'm game.

    Video:

    it also likes snow:

I will say that snow tires work wonders on dirt. Especially cold, hard packed dirt.

    e3o on gravel

been looking at this thread and it looks like you boys over there are having a hard time sorting out e30 rally cars
over here in uk we have the bmw r.w.d. challenge rally which as it says is for bmw rally cars this started in 2004/5 and we could only use the e30 325i,thats it could be 2door,4door or touring they were the only choices you had
they all have standard engine/gearbox ,,challenge kit that all cars had was safety devices cage bilstien shocks and eibach springs all round, standard brakes (but could have mintex pads) then obviously competition seats ,race harnesses extinguisher(hand held+plumbed in) and cut off switch so pretty much as the bm factory intendid
the spring and shock set up works well on tarmac and rough gravel and removed front anti-roll bar (or do you call it sway bar?) these cars rally allyear and as long as you don't smash it it needs nothing more than a general basic service nearly all the cars that started back then in 04/5 all still rallying now

don't know how to paste links but here are some sites you may like to look at
    www.205cup.com
    www.tonylarge.net
    www.rallypix.com

the first one takes you to the combind peugeot 205 and bmw r.w.d.challenge site click on the 205 forum in the top right and from there you'll get any info on rallying your e30
hope this may be of help to some of you:D
