1 less thing to complain about

Anyone that's known me for awhile has probably heard me bitch and moan that there is no track around here.
Once I mentioned that there is a track, but due to heavy opposition from older people and law enforcement (Cops make a killing giving tickets for street races), it is held up and will likely never become a reality.

Now things are going to change. We are getting a SCCA chapter over here, and I will be in it (charter member). My mechanic is the tech inspector, and he has been pushing me to join up (which I would've done anyway). Having the SCCA here now means we have the insurance to go ahead with it, and the proposed track is really going to happen.

Now my question is, what kind of options do I have with my car? I have no idea on the class system, and I am thinking I will probably have overmodded the car by the time I can race, and I will end up being in a class way too fast.

Right now all I have are a sparco brace, ground control's, koni S/A's, GC camber plates, and GC RSM's(if those make a difference).

By the time the track is built, I will have weld-on adjustable tabs in the rear, front and rear adjustable swaybars (front will have the m3 links welded on), and all poly bushings.

Have I outclassed myself already? Will I be digging the hole deeper with the extra stuff I'm getting?

Where can I read about class rules?
I will also have an upgraded diff by then, brake wise I'll have SS brake lines, good pads and new rotors. New clutch and LTW flywheel are also coming.
Basically I'm hoping you guys can point out things that I should not put my money into now, because I'll only regret it.

On a whole different path I have available, what kind of class will a 5lug, ally block m50 (cams, euro hfm, exhaust, maybe some headwork) 84 318i be in?
Working...
