    What Can Be Removed?

So, first off I did search, but no thread had really specified what you can and can't remove.

With the new rules for 09, i heard the SCCA is saying you must put the A/C back in the car if you removed it.

Now, does anyone have a list of things that CAN be removed to fun in DSP? If this thread grows we can specify what can be done for more than just DSP, and maybe have it stickied.

    K.... GO

There might not be a thread but there is a SCCA rule book that tells you what you can and can't remove...or just rip everything out and come join the fun in FP.

It might make more sense to just post up specific rules that are ambiguous that you want clarification on.

For ST_ classes, A/C must be reinstalled if it was removed.

If you're looking for Street Prepared, check the SCCA website for rules.

                Download the rule book.

                Read the rule book.

The SCCA rule book is REALLY straight forward.

Ugh guys LOL.... I want to race in dsp and the rule book is way vague. I was just hoping some people knew what could be done and would comment

$100 says you do not have a PDF copy of the rule book on your computer.

The rule book is not vague. Read through it, it tells you EXACTLY what you CAN do.

If it doesn't say you CAN do it, that means you CAN'T.

full interior, i know that. fender liners... dsp means the car must remain pretty much as is.

Thanks, this is a step in the right direction... I'll check the rulebook again, but if you people take a minute to re-read the first post, i was hoping we could turn it into a sticky if we had a decent list for DSP, then maybe STX, and so forth...

it changes every year, so a thread about this is pointless. im sure you could find a rudimentary list online of what is/is not allowed.

best thing to reference is the rulebook....

Ben, here's what I'm aware of for DSP.

-rear seats must stay in. Basically interior needs to stay. AC can be removed, PS can be removed, cat can be removed (and it almost passes CO laws...if my engine didn't burn oil like it was its job, it may just pass), stereo can be removed, trunk tar can be (dunno if 89+ has that. haven't checked tbh), spare removed, seats lightened/replaced, no composite or lightweight body work that i'm aware of.

Definitely double check that list against the rule book though, as what I've gotten away with doesn't mean it's necessarily legal.

I think A/C has to come back in for the street prepared classes. But good to know about the rest, i think i read somewhere that my 1990 doesn't have the trunk tar... Looks like all i can reall do is swap the front seats, and pull the spare and stuff when its time to race.
