The E30 is a very competative car .. almost a ringer. So they just give the teams hard times. Like I said they also give the Miata guys a hard time and stencil " if you had any balls you would drive a MG" on them.

There wer about 10 of them in the last race. As long as you have your paperwork in order you will be fine in a E30.

Why are e30s hated at LeMons again? I haven't been following it...

No Lemons is still going, but getting much more commercial. Word is there will double the races next year, So 20 of them. So the Lemons may loose its grassroots feel. I still think the Humor and penalties will continue to be creative.

The Lemons Judges give alot of cars a hard time not just e30s. THey pick on Miatas, RX7s and the VWs. Pretty much the fast cars. The judges all lean towards the underdogs. The MGs the 70s LTD, things that dont belong on a track.

We were doing very well this last race. We were in 5th place all the way untill the last 2 hours when i was hit in the passengers door by #16 escort.
    Here is our Teams site.

We will be doing the 2 Chump car series in FL next year just because they are close. We also are going to get an early 70s car for next years Lemons.
There is a Forum off the main Lemons site that has alot of disccion about the cure being over ruled etc..
But with the Chump and Lemons there will be many races to choose from. Plus its only a matter of time before yet another starts up.

Like everthing else a little competition is good. We will see what happens. I think having an option of a more serious Spec type race would be nice.

Since my pals and I committed to an e30 before we discovered the hate, we are going to give it a go in Febuary, but it seems chump car may be our way to go in the end.

Mainly its how damn churched up its gotten. We started 2 years ago, when it was a true, grassroots, fun, motorsports event. The most recent one was more like a NASA race weekend, with grand am teams to boot, instead of a race for shadetree guys. They've gone upmarket, and IMHO, lost sight of what its about. It was a fun race for regular folks.

I'll let a rep from MLT or one of the other beertechnicians elaborate, but its our last LeMons.

If your looking to do a race. Check where its going to be held. RE the 1/2 mile ovals are not that exciting, compared to the road course events.
There also now is the Chump series that is running at differnt tracks.

Its addicting once you try it you will have to budget for at least one event a year. We are running 2 this year and planning on 4 with the CHump series next year.
