    Auto-x vid and photos

Awesome day and by far the fastest auto-x course I've ever run- shifted into 3rd at least 5 times. I forgot my rollbar mount but I thought the sideview came out pretty cool.

    Pictures are here:

Thanks to the photographer for some great shots, go back 4 pages for pics of the Ariel Atom on Hoosier A6's, thing was insane.

Judging from the pictures, I need to get the bodyroll in check. Currently have GC's with Koni SA's, 350# fronts and 475# rears. Stock 325is front sway and stock 318is rear sway. I'm thinking that upgrading the sways along with m3-style front links will flatten her out and add some grip. Recommendations?

Nice. Not a very technical course but I agree, looks very fast.

Yeah, FTD was 99.240 in a supercharged Miata on Hoosiers. Fastest BMW (and winner of street tire division) was an E36 M3 at 103.384. It is held at Fort Devens, which is a decomissioned army base with an airfield. We run around the triangular airfield.

Great vid, Brew! I think I might have learned a few things watching it, like your entry into the box right after the first slalom, I never thought of doing it that way. I was lamenting not being in your run group, but the vid was almost like being there. :p

Awesome. Nice pics too. I really need to make it up there for one of these, it looks like a blast. I usually just run with the Porsche CVR club in Hartford which is fun, but their course is pretty small in comparison. Still lots of fun though.

I would go with M3 links and a cabby front sway to start since it would be the least expensive. If it is still lacking, I'd change the spring rates to something like 440F/650R.

I watched the video before reading anything and was very surprised by the acceleration. Damn, the S50 works nicely in a E30.

Nice video. I was surprised to see the body roll in the pictures, one doesn't notice it in the videos.

I have never had the courage to mount a video camera on the outside of the car. Was it held with a suction cup only ? What camera are you using ? I like the picture quality as well as the steady footage.

The run groups are huge at Deven's how many runs are you getting on average? I went a few years back say 05 when I was living up here and not flying so much.

The course takes forever to walk. Really wish they would allow me to use my kart with out a cage. Stupid rules.

This particular group is NE-SVT. It was very well organized. The event was limited to 55 entrants to avoid ridiculous run group sizes.

We got 4 practice runs in the morning and 5 runs in the afternoon, all of which were timed, but only the afternoon runs counted towards standings.

We did not walk the course with SVT, we actually drove the course. That was good and bad, because it really cut down on the time spent walking it, but if you didn't drive it (they requested 2ppl to a car), you didn't have as much time to think about the course.

People that worked first had to mark cones, rather than marking cones on the walk through. We buttoned up really early, like 3:45pm.

Yeah, SVT is a group run by a COM member, Troy V.

I am doing NHMS-2 with COM next month... I guess I'll see you there!

The camera is a GoPro Digital Hero, held to the car with their suction mount. I was a little wary at first, but the thing sticks incredibly well. I think if I tried to just rip it off, the mount arm would snap before the suction cup released from the window.
