    Anyone Drifting? HELP!

Whats good fellas, i love drifting.. its easily the funnest thing i have done behind the wheel of a car haha, and i have tracked my 05 St(sold)i, my 01 S2000, dragged my all motor 12.5 stock longblock H2B EG hatch and have had two s13 hatched that i have beat to death haha.. saw some e30's and fell inlove and wanted a sedan.. and two days later i got myself a 91 4dr 318i 5sp, good condition, that just needs a tranny.. i still plan to daily it because i cant drive my EG on the streets because cops love it, and the s2000 is a two seater for those special occasions haha.. so this is what i bought

    1991 BMW 318i 4dr 5sp
    charcoal dark gray color
    black leather interior
    body is near perfect
    bbs sideskirts
    and pretty much bone stock

all i have done to is was melt the springs for now
    15' rota gt3's black w/ chome lip
    custom exhaust
    painted the grill black
gave the tail lights a nice small tint
    painted the side reflectors black

and thats where i am.. hahaha ideas? thoughts? anything helps.. thanks

    ***PICS***

    how i first got it

after i waxed it, lowered it a tad, put some wheels on and the exhaust

i love how it looks and sounds.. added the glasspack so it wouldnt be raspy

and how it sits now with the slightly tinted tail lights, on the 002's and "E30" emblems i made

      LOL. nice.
you have the exact same car as me, the color is called diamond schwarz.
      Rota's? nice.
For wheels/suspension on mine, I'm thinking:
5-lug conversion, set of Bmw M-system Throwing Stars (On M5's) and just drop it about an inch in the back, and 1/2" more in the front.

We should have pretty similar projects!

Siick, and I was thinking more like steel break lines, slotted rotors and nice pads for the stock 4lug, front and rear sway bars, complete energy suspension bushing kit, nice flywheel, aggresive clutch, motor mounts? Wanted a chip for it.. Delete catback and resinator, and don't even know if my diff is LSD? Anyone? Haha feels like it is.. And maybe an electric fan switch to keep it on when times are about to get roughh!!!

those vogtlands won't hardly cut it for drifting. I have been out drifting twice with mine and lots of roll and not stiff enough in rear, front are perfect though. A little birdy showed me that he could run honda coil overs on his rear spring perches.

Figured :( and thinking about some h&r sports? IE stage 3's? And just thought it was a hell of a deal for the price I paid.. And the rear end does in deed need to be almost as stiff as it gets.. Front should have some mercy

What exactly are you trying to accomplish here? A low power drift car? Just drive on 155s in the back and you're solid. :p

M42s are crappy motors to be sliding on though. You either drive balls out or not at all (similar to the s2000). And if you're doing this stuff on the street, it's not likely to work out well.

relax a bit, and i was thinking low compression turbo motorwise.. NA for this motor doesnt looks like its going to happen haha.. and im running on 205's at the time and can easily slide in 1st thru 2nd.. not enough room for 3rd where i go.. (huge empty parking lot) and you can make anything slide with the right driver behind it.. some weight transfer and the handy clutch pedal have worked fine for now.. and im barely getting into it man.. and im simply putting together an extremely fun daily driven 4dr that can slide around if i please with ease

heating i think woulda been a way better word for what i meant haha.. i took a torch to the stock springs and had them drop down as low as i wanted.. (seriously not reccomended, rires horribly and they slowly get lower and lower) i only did it because i knew suspension was just around the corner man.. and i had a horible gap front and back and couldnt take it anymore.. and cheap way to go would be simply pulling your springs out and cutting them.. still going to be just as soft as they were.. some shocks dont take to kindly to lowering tho..

if your gonna run just srpings...h&r race or ie stage 3 with bilsteins will be fine. do ALL of the bushings with poly. and sways and 50psi in the rears. stock lsd kinda sucks so run a welded if ya feel frisky. otherwise have fun and dont hit shit!
