wheel size & tire size is unlimited, as long as you can fit them. 275/35/15 is the tire of choice right now. Fender flares are your friend.
Engine internals must be stock--any intake and any exhaust are allowed.
Any suspension as long as it bolts to the factory locations.
Diff must be of a ratio that was available in an e30 325.
steering wheel can be changed, airbag wheel can be removed, front seats can be changed.
No body mods inboard of the hubs.
big brake kits are allowed, but keep the abs. it's very easy to lock the wheels if you have good brakes, and really a detriment to not have the abs since you will be loading & unloading tires making individual ones much easier to lock.

Thanks Kilgojr, I've been reading the 2010 rules when I get a spare moment, and I'm halfway through the stock rules I think. I'll continue, but thanks for your input.Leave a comment:

If you want to see a good DSP E30 go to the Vorshlag website and look under their car builds. They have a gallery of pics that will give you some idea of what you need.
Basically any suspension that is in stock location points will work. The interior has to be as it came from the factory except that you can change out the steering wheel, front seats (still has to weight 25lbs. minimum), and I belive the sunroof mechanism (but double check that before you take my word for it). I don't believe there is a limit on tire size but I do believe you are only allowed plus 2 on wheel size from stock. Oh and you have to have the back seat in place. If you take it out that puts you in SM. You can take all of the emissions equipment out except for the CAT.
When you are reading through the Solo rules you really need to look through Stock as well because any of the regulations in those classes are going to be mandated in DSP, except for what is specifically stated in DSP.Leave a comment:

I am very underpowered in DSP, however I have been competetive locally with it by being a bit more even keel of a driver.
95' 318ti
H&R Race Springs, Koni Yellows, H&R Sways F&R, Bav Auto upper tie bars F&R, vert cross bracing and Hoosier A6's

I am very happy in DSP right now.Leave a comment:

Thank's very much Jay, I'll check the sensors if I can.
Also, gonna PM you real quick w/ a question..Leave a comment:

Look for metal filings stuck to the abs sensors to cause inconsistency.
Also, you could be starting to fry the fuse on the ABS relay. Super common.
here is this in case you don't have it:

Yeah.... problem no more I hope. I had to move the car at like 2:30 this morning, no light.... Started it this morning and drove it, no light.Leave a comment:

First thing would be to check all the sensors, make sure the connections are good and not dry rotted. Then check the ABS computer under the dash (not even sure how you check it's good though).Leave a comment:

Thanks Jean. It's nice to hear everyone's input. If it's something simple like a sensor, it would be worth fixing, if it's gonna be a pain... I dunno if it's worth it. (BUT, if I do get Buddy's pump, and it works, I'm guessing I'd be draining all the fluid. If so, it finally gives me an excuse to put in my ATE fluid and do the stainless lines that have been sitting in the garage for months and months).Leave a comment:

I've been pretty happy with my car in SM w/o abs...obviously it was way underpowered but not having ABS was not really an issue on sticky street tires. I'll see how that works later this year on dot-r tires though.Leave a comment:

I'll send you the link on facebook.... It takes a while, but the rules are worth a read to know exactly what you can and can't do. I'm not finished yet, but it's clarified a few things.Leave a comment:

Those tricky rule writing bastards, always raining on my parade. The only details on Alex's build I know of are what he's posted on the forums, try searching for threads and posts. I wouldn't expect too much, as he is trying to be nationally competitive. He does rock 285/30/18 A6s though.SA is outta the question. I read through the rules and you can only use what was available in the U.S. and Canada as long as the only changes to the Canadian model were for comfort and didn't impact performance. I might get Cal to look at it, but in all honesty, I don't have the money to pay them to fix it. My old man's a mechanic and I'll see what he says if he can look at the car.
Actually, I emailed Alex S. but I dunno if he got it. I'm really looking for tips / suggestions for DSP, and MAINLY I wanna look at a parts list for the motor and such.... Do you have such details on his build?Leave a comment:

I know man. I'd get Cal to take a look and see what's going on with it, and if the pump's going get z31's. Your call, you've heard the arguments for/against. Driving without it on the street won't be too bad, just don't trust abs will come on until the light goes away or the problem's fixed.True..... LIke I've said over and over on here and facebook to Damian and everyone else involved in that post............... It happened like 6 hours ago, I haven't given it ANY thought lol. I'm doing homework, and I'll be doing homework all day tomorrow. I can drive the car tomorrow, probably for a week or two before I decide what to do.
As for DSP classing, you'd need a motor like Alex S's. It's got ITBs, stock internals and cam, dunno about porting (probs not), but every other bolt on possible. Or get a SA 325iS motor or build one to that spec. That's technically legal per the rule book, but will get a whole lot of o_O looks and disbelief. Though the book does say an E30 328 is legal to update/backdate between....so....super eta stroker? Might be legal if you can interchange parts.Leave a comment:

Too many variables to quantify that one, but the key to abs is repeatability. You won't be able to replicate its results time and time again with anywhere near the precision of the abs computer and pump. It's very nice to not have to concentrate hard on threshold and compression braking and just jam the pedal down when the need arises.Leave a comment:
