I have to wait a whole month for the next one. Its funny how flogging on my car for a little over 3 combined minutes has given me more enthusiasm about it than the last 3 years of having it :P

Yeah, ours don't start until March. I'm excited as it will be the 2nd time I've auto-xed the E30 and the first time with H&R/Bilstein, sways, etc. I can't wait!

I was quite surprised when autocrossing the 318, how much you actually had to "throw" the car around to turn decent lap times. I was taking a decent line, but not getting on it enough to break it loose or get the rear out, and was turning 54.xx on a pretty open track... it wasn't until later in the day during fun runs that I actually started pushing the car and effectively powersliding around corners that I started turning better times... best time of the day was my last fun run, a 50.something.

I'd just take as much of an out/in/out line as possible and get on the gas to rotate the car coming out of the corners. You'd be surprised what it'll do for you.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

Very true. '04 was my rookie year and I was laying down surprisingly good times, always at least midpack in a class where EVERYTHING is legal (slicks, cages, gutted race cars...). I let Randy Sparre take my car for a run, and he beat me by something like 4 seconds and came 0.1 behind one of the said race cars. The entire run was literally one long drift, I don't think the rear end ever settled.

I just got back from being at the auto x all day. It was the most fun I've had in a long time, and I won my class. (Novice)

Hey mystikal, where do you run? I plan on starting autocrossing this year as soon as I do my suspension.

                          Keep it slideways!!

I think I was faster with the M42. ;) Not really, but with the S50 and being used to auto-xing with an M42 (flatfoot), it was more a battle (but a fun one) to keep the rear from lighting up.

Just got home from seoncd autox...
Got in 2 runs, then it started raining for my last 2 runs.
Got ~53seconds in the dry, day best was ~48 (mitsu evo). Think my best in the rain was 55 seconds.
