Hey,
This may be a 'general technical' but it's racing related. I have a complete engine/wiring harness from a 1991 325i parts car (auto). Can this be swapped relatively pain-free to a 1988 325is 5 sp.?
Reasons: The '88 harness was cut between the fuse box and the inside of the car and would require an electrical engineering degree from MIT to re-wire (I, on the other hand, have a BA in English from a state school). The '91 harness was removed pretty much all in one piece, except I cut the speaker wires at the doors.
The '88 is being built as a rally car, so I don't need any stereo/AC/power window/power mirror connections, etc. The fuse box will also be re-located inside the car.
Another big factor is the '91 sample looks showroom fresh, while the '88, well, looks 22 years old.
Thoughts?
