heh. I put coooool carbons on the rear of my car right before its latest HPDE. They seem alright, no horrible noises. I tend to notice the Massive street kit on the front more though.

Cool Carbon Brake Pads?

EBC track pads suck, avoid them at all costs. I've seen them evaporate in 1 session, admittely on an M6 but they still suck. I've heard nothing but bad things about them.
If you are just starting out a track/street pad combo is ok but don't expect them to hold up under heavy track use. Porterfield R4S or Hawk HP+ are good examples.
Ultimately you will need a good track pad, they can be driven on the street but you might get exessive dust, sparking, they will eat your rotors cold and often are extremely noisy. Cold braking is ok, not horrible.
Track pads I've used - Hawk Blue, Hawk HT-10, Hawk DTC-60, Porterfield R4, Ferrodo DS 3000, PFC 97'S, PFC 01's, PFC 06's. Haven't used Pagid Orange but people I respect have used then and love them. They are expensive though. I use Hawk, based on price and contingency they offer NASA racers.
