i enjoy watching the pro3 vidoes on youtube, but this kinda begs the question...how can a 1.7 be so close to the 2.5

i havent done much research on the pro3 specs...so cant say much

p.s. id still have a BMW over a honda any day...i aint hatin yo

A few things, all those M20 cars in Pro3 are 2.5 'i' motors with minimal mods allowed. If that GSR has the stock '92 motor then it's a 1.7, not 1.8 if I remember correctly.

Combine the light weight of the Integra, the potent B17 engine (I think they're around 170hp), and the 4.9 quaife final drive, and you've got a quick car.

I didn't watch the whole vid but it didn't look like he was contending with front-running E30 Pro3 cars.

Well the 1992 Integra GS-R came stock with 160hp which is only 10hp less than the 325i which is the motor that PRO3 uses. Both classes are allowed IT upgrades to their motors, so I could imagine that they both make similar amounts of power.

The minimum weight of the Honda is also at 2430lbs compared to the PRO3 weight of 2650 giving it a 200lb advantage.

Tires are also another area where the Honda could have an advantage. Although both classes have a similar limit in tire and wheel width, the Honda is allowed to run DOT-R slicks where the PRO3 can only run RA1s or R888s. This could be a considerable advantage in corner speed.

This track is relatively lower speed and doesn't have much of a long straight-away. Usually the more twisty a track is, the better that light-weight cars do. This could also be another reason why the Honda does well.

Although overall, PRO3 rules are basically ITS with a few limitations and a few additional allowances. So it's not surprising to me that ITS cars keep up with PRO3. This particular example also is supported by the reasons above.

Mission usually has a smaller draw than the other tracks on the schedule, and by this weekend, late in the season, people were either short on funds, or couldn't improve their standings in the championship.

Not the usual big guns in this race.
