s50 e30 track footage pacific raceways

PCA HPDE at Pacific Raceways, my first time in C group top speed ~130mph on the main straight with both windows down '87 BMW 325e s50 swap (3.5inch maf, 12lb…

This is my second track day, done with the Porsche club at Pacific Raceways. This is the 3rd run of the day, and my first run in C group.

    Car specs:
    '87 BMW 325e
s50 swap (3.5inch maf, 12lb flywheel, chip, long tube headers)
Ground Control single adjustables with 350/525lb springs (street car), camber plates
    UUC Swaybarbarian sway bars
    e36m3 5lug swap (e36m3 front brakes, i6 z3 rears), hawk ht10's
    205-55-r16 star spec z1 tires
No power steering or AC, instructor is in the car with me.

I passed a black new 911 and a yellow slightly older 911, and was passed by a 911 turbo and z4m, the video quality got destroyed so it's kinda hard to tell what the cars are. I am by no means an expert driver, this car offers much more than I can fully take advantage of.

I'll need to see if I can trick vimeo into thinking this is HD video so they don't destroy the image quality.

Car is not weighed. It's hard to tell from the video, but that black 911 was really holding me up, I was having to brake really early when following him.

Keep in mind I had an instructor in there with me, and no real weight reduction (PS and AC make up for motor weight), the car probably weighed around 3100 with both people in the car. It hasn't been corner weighted either, not sure how big of a difference that makes.

I can't wait to get my car back to the track.

Well done sir, I can see what you're saying about the black Porsche. You were clearly faster in the corners but he used his muscle to escape you in the straights.

Sounds about right. Last time I checked my '87 325i was 2900# with me in it. 325e means it's a sedan, I take it?

Wind kills it for me. Those springs rates are pretty soft for track use, but should be pretty well suited in the streets. I had to run 450# up front with 550 in the rear to keep the understeer down on my red car. How do you like the 325# up front?

With the big rear bar on full soft the car wants to oversteer if anything. I wasn't pushing it hard enough to run into over or understeer. On a wet skid pad I have a very hard time making the car understeer though.

In the past I usually get off track and ask for open space if someone is slowing me down. PIR corner workers are very good at flashing the passing flag though.

I'm no pro driver but looked like you did well.

This and there were no point by's? Seems like a douchey move not give you the point-by if you were gaining on that Porsche.
