Ran My 3rd Auto-X today and finally found the speed.

I had done a few events Novice this year but I was not happy with my time in comparison with other cars. Today I can say I an really fucking happy with my time. In my run group was my brothers E36 M3 my friends E46 M3 and some guy's E90 M3. All of them had mods and where hooking up well. Also in my run group was a guy with a new Cayman S ( I do not like this guy). I ran ok at first 68 seconds and my friend in the E46 M3 (who by the way is an scca instructor) ran a 66. So I knew I had to step it up. I then just started driving smooth and before I knew it I had a 65 and then a best of 63. The Cayman S with an acomplished driver behind the wheel ran a 64+. I was pumped. I think I now have the disease. In car video to follow.

Nice! I "attended" an auto-x today too. I was gonna run my e46 but the t-stat took a shit on Friday. My e30 isn't together yet.

It was put on by the Porsche club and a e36 M3 took the best time, lol!

What is your car and what are its mods? I'm assuming it isn't an 84 318i...

You should not hold your wheel like that.

I'd hold my wheel like that if I could turn in those times.

I know I am still getting used to such a small wheel. I am used to a big mtech and have never auto-xed with this one. I should drop my hand position or go to shuffle steering with such a small wheel.

I really have to give this section a bunch of credit I had no idea how to get involved with auto-x and the forum was a great resource.

besides the hand placement which was already noted, it looks like you are late through the slaloms (turning at or after the cone as opposed to turning slightly before the cone)

The course was out At Reno fernley race way. I saw another e30 (white and low) headed out as I was headed back to Reno, any oxy know who that is?

The next even will be at stead. It would be great to have another e30 out there.

On my last run that I did. It record I started turning sooner into the slalom but I still have a lot to learn. Third time was so much better than the first time.

I was thinking the same thing and it also sounded like there was quite a bit of lifting happening instead of staying on the gas....What type of tires are you running and do you guys run a pax index?
